LiteLLM PyPI Package Breach: Credentials Stolen from Users
The breach of the LiteLLM package on PyPI, detected on March 24, 2026, involved malicious versions (1.82.7 and 1.82.8) that deployed an infostealer to harvest sensitive data, including API keys and user credentials. Orchestrated by TeamPCP, this supply-chain attack exploited vulnerabilities in the package’s development and deployment process, highlighting the critical need for robust security practices in managing open-source libraries. Security professionals must prioritize implementing automated security scans and dependency checks to protect against similar threats and safeguard the integrity of software supply chains.
