Akeyless, provider of the Unified Secrets and Machine Identity Platform, has announced the Universal Secrets Connector (USC) for AWS Secrets Manager—a new integration that enables enterprises to centrally manage all secrets through Akeyless while maintaining real-time, bi-directional synchronization with AWS Secrets Manager, without migrating sensitive data.
The USC allows organizations to:
-
Preserve existing AWS workflows and security policies while extending unified governance and visibility across all secret stores.
-
Avoid fragmented secrets management across AWS, on-premises, and other environments by creating a single view into all secrets.
-
Automatically rotate credentials (e.g., database logins, API tokens, SSH keys) in Akeyless, with updates instantly reflected in AWS Secrets Manager.
-
Enforce consistent role-based access controls and audit trails across multi-cloud and hybrid deployments.
By leveraging existing AWS IAM roles and deploying through the Akeyless Gateway, USC requires no changes to AWS configurations while enhancing security with centralized management, policy enforcement, and comprehensive auditability.
CEO Oded Hareven emphasized that the integration removes the trade-off between trusted AWS services and unified enterprise security, enabling “true unification while respecting existing investments and security boundaries.”
The AWS Secrets Manager integration is available immediately for all Akeyless enterprise customers through their current deployments.
