Netacea is a bot protection company that helps online businesses tell people, bots and AI agents apart and stop automated attacks on their websites, APIs and mobile apps. It is built for retailers, media groups, streaming services, gaming, travel and telco businesses facing account takeover, credential stuffing, scraping and API abuse.
Alongside live protection, Netacea offers intelligence on what bot operators are planning, so teams hear about an attack before it starts.

What Netacea Does
Automated attacks are hard to spot because good bots, bad bots and now AI agents all look like ordinary requests. Netacea’s approach is to judge each visitor by what it is trying to do rather than by who it claims to be, separating humans, bots and AI agents in real time and enforcing access on intent. Traditional bots go undetected for a reported average of 18 weeks, which is the gap the platform targets. Pairing live blocking with intelligence about planned attacks lets security teams prepare for an attack instead of only reacting to it once it is under way.
Products
Netacea Bot Protection
Bot Protection is the detection and response product. It identifies and blocks bots at the edge, adapts to new attack patterns without rule changes or manual updates, and shows live attacks across web applications, APIs and mobile apps. Ecommerce and digital teams use it against account takeover, carding, credential stuffing, fake account creation, loyalty point fraud, scalper bots, CAPTCHA bypass and web scraping. Its detection engine includes Talos, which runs server side and uses machine learning to recognise malicious intent as it happens, adjusting to the traffic of each customer.
Netacea Threat Intel Center
The Threat Intel Center gives access to a dedicated bot threat intelligence team. It suits fraud and security teams who want early warning rather than only live blocking.
- Threat data from over 3,000 hard-to-access sources, including messaging groups, forums and marketplaces
- Predictive modelling to anticipate planned attacks
- Intelligence before and after attacks on credential stuffing configurations, stolen accounts, cracked cards, fake accounts and scalper bots
- Research requests tied to a specific business issue
- Delivery as a managed service, professional services or Netacea Threat Intel Feeds, human-curated reports on what bot threat actors are saying about a customer’s brand and sector
How It Works
Netacea integrates server side, so one agentless setup covers web, app and API traffic. The edge integration streams request data to Netacea and asks the service whether to allow a connection or apply a mitigation. On Cloudflare the whole integration runs in a single Cloud Worker, and on Amazon CloudFront in a single Lambda@Edge function.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Agentless Integration | Connects through existing CDNs, WAFs and load balancers. If traffic is unrecognised or a failure occurs, it fails open so that legitimate users are not blocked. |
| Intent Detection Engine | Combines “patented machine learning models, past attack data and threat intelligence”, with threat analysis computed at the edge. |
| Active Attack Insights | Sends intelligence to SIEM, SOAR and XDR platforms with sub-second latency. |
Integrations
| Area | Integrations |
|---|---|
| CDN and edge | Akamai (EdgeWorkers, DataStream 2), Cloudflare (Cloud Worker), Amazon CloudFront (Lambda@Edge), Fastly (real time log streaming, VCL) |
| Load balancers | F5 (LX iRule) |
| Ecommerce | Magento, through the Netacea Fastly/Magento plugin |
