Understanding ObserveID

ObserveID is an identity security company that brings human, machine and AI identities onto one platform, so security and identity teams can see every identity, understand the risk it carries and govern its access.

It is built for enterprises whose accounts, entitlements and secrets are spread across cloud, hybrid and on-premises systems.

What ObserveID Does

Many organisations run separate tools for access management, governance and privileged access, and none of them sees the whole picture. ObserveID puts those jobs on one data model, giving a single view of identity risk with central monitoring, automated access reviews, compliance reporting and zero trust controls. Machine identities get the same treatment as people, on the principle that “Security teams cannot govern what they cannot see.” The result is that a reviewer looking at an employee, a privileged admin account or a CI/CD token works from the same record and the same risk signals.

Products

IAM And IGA

The governance module is for teams that spend weeks on access certifications. AI-assisted reviews go to managers, app owners and role owners, and entitlements can be certified by role, team or application. A policy library comes pre-defined, controls are pre-aligned with NIST, CIS, CSA and other frameworks, dashboards are ready for audit, and risky access can be revoked or adjusted automatically.

PAM

A cloud native PAM module for privileged accounts. Just-in-time access grants temporary privileges with automatic password rotation afterwards, credentials are stored encrypted in one place, break-glass access leaves an audit trail, and privileged sessions are recorded and monitored in real time.

IVIP

The Identity Visibility and Intelligence Platform gathers identity data, events, relationships and configurations into one repository, “Identity Truth”. It monitors that data continuously, alerts on anomalies and fixes issues either automatically or after a human approves.

NHI Governance

NHI Governance targets the service accounts, keys and tokens that traditional IAM platforms were never designed to track. It keeps a live inventory of machine identities with owners and business context, right-sizes privileges by comparing what each identity uses with what it was granted, scans code repositories, CI/CD and collaboration tools for exposed secrets and triggers rotation when it finds them. Each identity gets a behavioural baseline with anomaly alerts (ITDR), and reports map to SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and NIST.

How It Works

ObserveID is cloud native, built on microservices, and connects to cloud, hybrid and on-premises systems through more than 250 prebuilt connectors. Onboarding follows four steps: connect the systems, discover the identities in them, configure policies and go live. Non-human identities move through a six stage lifecycle: discover, classify, govern, detect, remediate and audit.

Obi keeps customer data inside the customer’s environment. It makes no external AI calls and is available in both public and private cloud deployments, which matters for organisations that cannot send identity data to an outside model.

Agentic AI Capabilities

Obi Identity Assistant

Obi (Observational Behaviour Intelligence) lets administrators ask identity questions in plain language, such as who has had access to Salesforce in the last two weeks, and returns explainable reports. It also automates joiner-mover-leaver workflows and catches segregation of duties conflicts. Under the hood it combines generative AI, agentic AI that carries out tasks on its own, and Model Context Protocol, which keeps each action explainable and controlled.

AI-Assisted Governance

AI also supports user access reviews and role mining, and flags risky user activity for investigation.
