Pentera runs automated adversarial testing in live production environments to show which security gaps an attacker could actually exploit. It is built for security teams that want proof of real risk across internal networks, external assets, cloud and hybrid estates, web apps and APIs, rather than an ever growing list of theoretical vulnerabilities.
The Pentera Platform pairs continuous exposure validation with remediation, and expert services, including SECTOR11 Adversarial Testing Services and a Security Validation Advisory programme, sit alongside it.

What Pentera Does
Scanners report vulnerabilities one by one, but attackers chain weaknesses together. Pentera emulates real adversary tactics, techniques and procedures, linking vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, identities and credentials into attack paths and then trying to prove initial access and impact. The aim is to validate exploitability rather than monitor posture, so remediation effort goes to the exposures an attacker could really use, and every fix is checked by running the attack again. Because validation is continuous rather than a yearly engagement, the picture keeps pace as networks, cloud accounts and applications change.
Products
Pentera Core
Internal network validation for teams that want to know how far an attacker could get once inside. Core runs full internal attack paths from either obtained or assumed access, tests credential-based access and privilege escalation, and cracks password hashes offline to measure the real strength of Active Directory. Results come with attack maps, root cause analysis, control assessments and executive and compliance reports.
Pentera Surface
Surface looks at the organisation from the outside, testing internet-facing domains, IPs, services, applications and interfaces the way an external attacker would. AI adapts techniques and generates payloads to suit each system type, authentication model and application logic.
- External attack paths mapped to MITRE ATT&CK
- Testing of leaked and reused credentials
- Phishing emulation and data exfiltration risk assessment
- Evaluation of WAFs, perimeter firewalls and identity providers
Pentera Cloud
Cloud estates add identity-driven risk that network tests miss. Pentera Cloud validates cloud-native and hybrid attack paths, assesses how cloud identities can escalate privilege, chains misconfigurations into workload compromise and tests whether cloud data can be reached and exfiltrated.
Pentera Resolve
Resolve handles what happens after testing. It consolidates and deduplicates findings, prioritises them by proven risk, assigns them to owners and tracks SLAs with reporting per business unit. Once a fix is in, it triggers revalidation that re-runs the original attack path. AI remediation operations (RemOps) in Resolve orchestrate fixes, answer natural-language questions about remediation status and asset ownership, and map each exposure to the responsible team and business owner.
Adversarial AI Agent And MCP Server
The Adversarial AI Agent guides offensive security practitioners through their testing work. The MCP Server works in the other direction: it connects AI SecOps workflows to Pentera’s validation capabilities, so security teams can call testing from agent-driven operations. During cloud runs, AI also interprets observed behaviour and analyses results across runs.
How It Works
The testing products run directly in live production. Customers set the guardrails: scoped permissions or tests, attack throttling, impact limits, emergency stop controls and audit logging.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Testing engine | Core, Surface and Cloud run emulated attacks against their target environments and chain what they find into attack paths. |
| Remediation layer | Resolve pulls validated findings from the three testing products, enriches them with context from the wider security stack and pushes the work into existing ITSM and workflow systems, through native integrations with more than 100 security and IT tools. |
| Revalidation loop | After remediation the original attack paths run again to confirm whether the exposure is closed. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Credentials | Compromised and leaked credentials, tested for the access they grant inside and outside the network. |
|---|---|
| Active Directory | Domain accounts and password hashes. |
| Cloud identities | IAM roles, permissions and trust relationships that could allow privilege escalation. |
| Cloud platforms | AWS and Microsoft Azure (IaaS). |
| External assets | Domains, IPs, services, web applications, APIs and authentication points. |
