Privacera is a data and AI governance company that helps enterprises control who, and which AI agents, can reach sensitive data across their cloud and on-premises data platforms. Since March 2026 its platform has been sold as Trust3 AI by Privacera, a single governance layer for data teams, security teams and the people responsible for putting AI into production.
The problem it addresses is fragmentation. Each data platform has its own permission model, so access rules drift apart, and AI projects add a new route to the same sensitive records.

What Privacera Does
Data governance tools were built for analysts querying tables, not for AI systems that read, combine and generate data at speed. Trust3 AI brings both under one platform, “moving from rigid, siloed controls to a unified trust layer”. Policies are written once and enforced on every connected data platform, so the same rules apply whether a person runs a query in Databricks or an agent retrieves records for a model. The platform is aimed at organisations working under rules such as GDPR, HIPAA and the EU AI Act.
Products
Data Governance Modules
The data governance side serves data platform and security teams who need consistent control across many stores.
| Sensitive Data Discovery | Finds and classifies sensitive data across connected sources. |
|---|---|
| Centralised Data Access Control and Policies | One policy set enforced on every connected platform. |
| Enterprise Data Encryption and Masking | Protects sensitive fields while keeping data usable. |
| Sensitive Data Access Audit and Reporting | Records who accessed which sensitive data, for audits and investigations. |
| Governed Data Stewardship | Workflows for data owners and stewards. |
| Posture Manager | Data security posture management across the estate. |
AI Governance Application
This application is for teams deploying LLMs and agents on company data. It enforces policy on AI use, filters prompts and keeps a full audit trail of AI outputs, so the controls that govern data access also apply when that data reaches a model. Privacera also maintains PAIG, an open source project for governing generative AI.
How It Works
Trust3 AI is a cloud-native platform built on open standards. A central policy layer holds the rules, and more than 50 out-of-the-box connectors push them down to the data platforms where data actually lives, across several clouds and on-premises environments. Enforcement therefore happens inside each platform rather than through a proxy in front of it.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Policy layer | Defines access, masking and encryption rules once for all connected platforms. |
| Connectors | Link the policy layer to data platforms, catalogues and cloud services. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Users | Access control, audit and reporting on who reaches sensitive data. |
|---|---|
| AI agents | Guardrails and controls that “enforce policies on data and AI agents”. |
| LLM interactions | Prompts and AI outputs. |
| Data platforms | Snowflake, Databricks, Databricks Unity Catalog and Apache Iceberg. |
| Clouds | AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud, plus on-premises environments. |
Agentic AI Capabilities
Trust Agents
Trust Agents automate metadata and AI discovery, turn natural-language requests into policies, and apply guardrails in real time. Two named agents, the Data Governance Agent and the AI Governance Agent, split this work between data estates and AI systems.
Guardrails For AI
Real-time guardrails sit on the path between AI agents and governed data. They add proactive detection of bias, ethical issues and compliance violations in AI use, with Gemini and Anthropic models among those referenced. A request that breaks policy is stopped before the data reaches the model.
