Signifyd provides fraud protection for online retailers. It checks who a shopper is and what they intend at each step of the buying journey, from account creation and login through checkout to returns, so merchants can approve good customers quickly and block fraud without adding friction for everyone.
Its customers are retailers and brands selling online, from fashion and consumer goods to home improvement, for whom both fraud and false declines cost real revenue.

What Signifyd Does
Online retailers face two costly errors: approving a fraudulent order and turning away a real customer. Signifyd aims to remove both by resolving the shopper’s identity and intent before the decision is made, returning an answer in milliseconds and then standing behind approved orders financially, so the merchant no longer carries the risk of a wrong call. The same risk view runs across the whole customer lifecycle, drawing on signals from its network of merchants, with machine learning models that are retrained continuously.
Products
Account Integrity And Session Intelligence
For retailers, much of the risk arrives before any order is placed. Account Integrity watches an account from creation to login to modification and resolves identity against more than 900 million identities in the Signifyd network. Session Intelligence feeds it, tying device and behavioural signals to a single session ID so bots can be spotted before an account even exists.
- Real-time recognition of credential stuffing patterns, using signals from across merchants
- Step-up challenges only when risk signals call for them
- A risk recommendation returned within milliseconds
Purchase Optimization
Purchase Optimization is the checkout layer for merchants losing revenue to false declines and chargebacks. Guaranteed Fraud Protection carries a 100% financial guarantee on approved orders, Authorization Rate Optimization works to get more legitimate payments through, and Chargeback Recovery and Complete Chargeback Protection deal with disputes once they arrive.
Returns Assurance
Returns Assurance carries the same risk scoring past the sale. It scores post-purchase interactions such as returns and appeasements, so retailers can refund their high-value customers quickly.
How It Works
Merchants connect Signifyd to their commerce platform as a cloud service. In the Adobe Commerce extension, each order placed in the store goes to Signifyd, which reviews it and tells the merchant whether to ship. The order grid links each order to its Signifyd case, where the merchant can read the analysis, request a re-review or submit a reimbursement claim.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pre-authorisation and post-authorisation flows | Adobe Payment Services supports both flows, covering credit and debit cards, vaulted cards, Admin checkout, PayPal and Apple Pay. |
| Order workflows | Workflows can update order status, or capture, cancel or void an order, based on the Signifyd decision. |
| Guarantee | Fraudulent chargebacks are paid back within 48 hours, including chargeback fees and shipping. Cancelling an order in the store automatically cancels its guarantee. |
