Snyk is an application security company that helps development and security teams find and fix vulnerabilities in the software they build, whether a developer or an AI assistant wrote it. Its tools sit inside the IDE, source control and build pipelines, so issues are caught and fixed while code is being written rather than after release.
Everything runs on the Snyk AI Security Platform, which now also governs the AI coding agents that write code and the applications that are themselves built on AI.

What Snyk Does
AI assistants let teams ship far more code, and security review has to keep up without slowing developers down. Snyk combines frontier-model reasoning with deterministic analysis engines, so that AI speeds up finding and fixing issues while rule-based checks keep results consistent.
For traditional development, the products test code and dependencies continuously and offer fixes directly in the IDE and the pull request. For AI-driven development, Evo governs what coding agents use, what they do and what they produce. For AI-native applications, it inventories AI assets and tests them the way an attacker would.
Products
Snyk Code
Snyk Code is static analysis that runs as developers write, so insecure patterns are flagged in the editor. It is built on DeepCode AI and checks code generated by assistants in the same way as code typed by hand.
Snyk Open Source And Snyk Container
Open source packages and container base images carry most of an application’s third party risk. Snyk Open Source steers developers away from vulnerable dependencies, and Snyk Container helps keep base images patched and secure.
Snyk IaC
Snyk IaC finds misconfigurations in infrastructure as code and fixes them in the code itself, before the infrastructure is deployed. It connects to Terraform Cloud and Terraform Enterprise through Run Tasks.
API And Web
API and Web is dynamic testing for running applications. It discovers APIs and web apps and tests them from the outside.
Snyk Secrets
Snyk Secrets catches API keys, tokens and passwords before they are committed, closing off one of the most common ways credentials leak.
Evo
Evo is Snyk’s security and governance line for AI agents, aimed at organisations scaling AI-driven development and building AI-native applications.
| Agentic Development Security | Real-time guardrails across the agent development lifecycle, covering the tools agents use, the actions they take and the code they generate, validated across Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Codex and Windsurf. |
|---|---|
| AI-SPM | Discovers models, agents, MCP servers, datasets and plugins across repositories, adds risk context and produces a live AI-BOM. |
| Continuous Offensive Security | Ongoing attack testing of AI-native applications, so teams find weaknesses before attackers do. |
| Agentic AppSec | Security agents that run the AppSec programme, finding, fixing and verifying vulnerabilities on a continuous basis. |
| Agent Fix | Generates fixes with Snyk’s security intelligence layered on top of the model, which the company reports lifts the merge-ready rate of fixes to about 82%. |
| Guardrails | From the Invariant Labs acquisition, a security layer at the LLM and agent level that can be inspected rather than treated as a black box. It monitors agent behaviour and checks MCP servers for flaws. |
How It Works
Snyk is a hosted service. Enterprises choose a regional instance for data residency, at app.us.snyk.io, app.eu.snyk.io or app.au.snyk.io, and the region that holds data follows local agreements.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Developer tools | IDE plugins and the Snyk Language Server bring results into the editor. |
| Source control | Connected repositories are imported and their projects tested automatically. |
| Snyk Broker | Where a source control instance is not reachable from the internet, Snyk Broker relays the connection from inside the customer network. |
| Pipelines | CI/CD integrations test each build before release. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Secrets | API keys, tokens and passwords in source code, caught before commit. |
|---|---|
| AI coding agents | The agents whose tool use and output Evo governs in real time. |
| AI assets | Models, agents, MCP servers, datasets and plugins inventoried by AI-SPM. |
| Software | First party code, open source dependencies, container images, infrastructure as code, APIs and web apps. |
