SPHERE is an identity hygiene company. It helps security and identity teams find the accounts in their environment, give each one an accountable owner and clean up access that falls outside policy, so the identity tools they already run work from accurate data.
Its platform, SPHEREboard, is designed to sit alongside IAM, PAM and IGA products rather than replace them. SPHERE’s focus is highly regulated, security-conscious organisations where unowned access is an audit finding waiting to happen.

What SPHERE Does
Identity data in most organisations is spread across directories, vaults and HR systems, and much of it has no clear owner. Governance and privileged access tools assume that data is right: a certification campaign is only as good as the owner it sends each account to. SPHERE works on the layer underneath, making the inventory complete and the ownership accurate before those tools act on it. The clean-up is treated as a continuous loop rather than a one-off project, because new accounts appear and owners leave every week.
Products
SPHEREboard
SPHEREboard is the core platform. It gives IT teams one workflow for managing controls over both end-user and privileged accounts, and it is sold in modules for specific systems:
- SPHEREboard for CyberArk PAM, for the privileged accounts held in a CyberArk vault
- SPHEREboard SecureAD, for Active Directory accounts and groups
SPHEREboard Intelligent Discovery 2.0
Intelligent Discovery 2.0 is aimed at identity teams who cannot say with confidence where all their privileged accounts are. It keeps a continuously updated view of those accounts across cloud and on-premises environments and is sold separately from the CyberArk PAM module.
- Unified inventory of privileged and high-risk accounts
- Identity Hub, a real-time compliance view of out-of-policy accounts ranked by risk, with historical trends
- Standing privilege analysis that flags persistent access and points to Just-in-Time opportunities, as a step towards Zero Standing Privilege
- Ownership Automation, which maps accountable owners to orphaned accounts
- Reporting for executives, auditors and operators
Hygiene Managed Services
Hygiene Managed Services pair the platform with SPHERE’s own team. They suit organisations that lack the staff to chase account owners and work through remediation queues themselves, so the discovery and clean-up work is run for them rather than in-house.
How It Works
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Deployment | Intelligent Discovery 2.0 runs as SaaS or self-hosted. |
| Data sources | SPHEREboard pulls account and ownership data from the systems it connects to, including CyberArk PAM, Active Directory, ServiceNow CMDB and HR systems, and from cloud and on-premises environments. |
| Remediation loop | Accounts without an owner are matched to one, out-of-policy accounts are queued by risk, and reports track progress over time. |
| Governance feed | The SailPoint integration passes owned identity data from SPHEREboard into SailPoint Identity Security Cloud for governance and access certification. |
Identities And Systems Covered

| Orphaned accounts | Accounts with no owner, mapped to one through Ownership Automation. |
