StoneLock makes touchless facial biometric access control for buildings and secure areas. Its readers verify enrolled people at the door and pass the result to the access control system an organisation already runs.
It is for security teams that want to replace PINs, shared cards and touch-based readers with a face check, without storing pictures of their staff.

What StoneLock Does
Physical access still leans on PINs and badges, which are easy to share, forget or copy, and on keypads that everyone has to touch. StoneLock replaces them with a reader that recognises a face in near infrared light and opens the door only for an enrolled person.
Privacy sits at the centre of the design. The reader works from reflectivity data that is not visible to the naked eye, does not use photographs or video stills, and turns each face into a template that is “unrecognizable outside of the StoneLock system.” Because the template carries no picture, it also does not reveal a person’s gender or ethnicity. The decision is then handed to the access control software the site already uses, so doors, schedules and permissions stay where they are.
Products
StoneLock GO
GO is the facial recognition reader mounted at each door. It suits sites that want fast, hands-free entry in any lighting, including total darkness (0 lux), and it gives staff a quicker way through than swiping a card.
- Verification in under a second, with throughput of up to 40 users a minute on one device
- Capacity of 50,000 users
- Power over PoE or PoE+, optical tamper detection and a 3.5 inch colour display
StoneLock Gateway V3
Gateway V3 is the credentialing and user management unit behind the readers. It moves biometric templates between GO devices so a person enrolled once can pass any door they are allowed through. One Gateway V3 supports up to 200 readers and can run in a high availability configuration, which matters for larger campuses where a single failure should not lock people out. Sold together, GO readers and Gateway V3 make up the True Frictionless Solution.
IdentityCare
IdentityCare is StoneLock’s portfolio of biometric intellectual property. Its algorithm replaces an enrolled user’s face with a mathematical representation, so the system never needs to hold a recognisable image. That matters most to organisations subject to biometric privacy rules.
How It Works
StoneLock runs entirely on premises, at the door and in the customer’s network.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enrolment | Users enrol themselves with a QR code or a card swipe through a guided, touchless process that takes under 20 seconds for each person. |
| Capture | Near infrared sensors read 1.2 million facial reference points and build a template. No images are stored. |
| Template management | Gateway V3 issues credentials and distributes templates to the readers it manages. |
| Panel connection | Readers talk to the access control panel over Wiegand, OSDP (which requires REM) or TCP/IP, and each access control integration runs through Gateway V3. Most platforms need a specific licence from the access control vendor. |
| Encryption | Network traffic is protected with TLS 1.2 and AES-256. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Human users | Enrolled employees and visitors who need entry to doors and restricted areas. |
|---|---|
| Credentials replaced | PINs, shared badges and touch-based keypads, including for government agencies moving beyond PIV cards. |
| Biometric templates | Each person’s template is issued by Gateway V3 and distributed to the readers that person may use, in place of any stored image. |
