Termius builds a cross-platform SSH client for engineers and the teams they work in. It replaces scattered terminal setups and loose key files with one app that holds server connections, credentials and shared team access on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android and iPad.
The problem it solves is everyday SSH sprawl: private keys copied between laptops, connection details kept in personal config files and no clean way to give a new engineer access or take it away.

What Termius Does
Termius sets out to rebuild the SSH client and terminal, tools that tens of millions of engineers use every day and that have changed little in decades. Its approach is to make the client itself the place where infrastructure access is organised. A shared vault becomes a team’s single source of truth for hosts, credentials, configurations and session logs, synced across devices and teammates, and administrators grant or revoke access to it in one click, so onboarding and offboarding engineers no longer means handling key files.
Products
SSH Client
The terminal is aimed at engineers who connect to many servers and want saved connections they can open instantly. It handles SSH and SFTP, port forwarding and jump hosts through SSH ProxyJump, and offers AI autocomplete, reusable snippets and session logs. Real-time multiplayer sessions let several engineers work in the same terminal, which helps with pairing and incident response.
Vault And Keychain
The Vault and Keychain are where credentials live, so engineers stop keeping private keys and passwords in local files.
- Personal vaults, local or synced to the cloud
- Team vaults, with multiple vaults and granular access control for larger organisations
- SSH key generation with passphrase protection
- SSH certificates stored with their matching private key, so certificate login works from any synced device
- Hardware-backed authentication
How It Works
Termius runs as a client application on the engineer’s device and connects to servers over SSH and SFTP, including through jump hosts.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Client apps | Native apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android can connect directly to servers without the internet, a proxy or a VPN. |
| Encrypted vault sync | Vault data is end-to-end encrypted with a client-side key derived from the user’s password, protected in transit with TLS 1.2 and encrypted again in the database. |
| Account protection | Accounts support two-factor authentication against takeover, and organisations can add SAML SSO and enforce 2FA for every member. |
| Assurance | Third-party security experts carry out penetration tests every year. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Human users | Engineers with Termius accounts protected by 2FA or SAML SSO |
|---|---|
| SSH keys | Generated and stored in the Keychain with passphrase protection |
| SSH certificates | Certificate-based authentication to servers |
| Passwords and credentials | Stored in vaults and shared with teammates |
| Hardware keys | FIDO2 security keys and Apple Secure Enclave for SSH authentication |
| Systems | Linux and other servers reached over SSH and SFTP |
