TrustFour secures the connections between workloads and the non-human identity credentials those workloads use. Its products assess and enforce Transport Layer Security (TLS) between applications and services in cloud and data centre environments.
The problem it addresses is that machine to machine traffic often runs on weak TLS settings and credentials that any system can present.

What TrustFour Does
TrustFour treats certificates, API keys, tokens, service accounts and AI and ML models as non-human identities, and sees the workload attack surface as the place to control them. Its starting point is that “Workload Attack Surface Security starts with configuring TLS properly including support for Post Quantum.” Its approach pairs TLS with an authorisation control system to give workloads a zero trust posture, and moves ownership of those controls from network operations to DevOps. The goal is TLS that meets NIST guidance and is ready for post-quantum cryptography, a clear map of which credentials pass between which workloads, and credentials that only work with the counterparties allowed to receive them.
Products
T4 Detect
T4 Detect shows teams how their workload traffic is secured. It scans north-south and east-west TLS infrastructure, scores each configuration against 33 NIST 800-52 attributes and 10 NIST approved post-quantum ciphers, and checks the channels, open ports and authorisation rules workloads use. The Detect++ tier adds reporting and alerting on the NHI credentials used between workloads and builds a map of where each was used.
T4 Protect
T4 Protect adds preventive controls for cloud and data centre workloads. It enforces mutual TLS on channels between workloads and restricts each NHI credential to authorised counterparties, so a stolen key cannot be replayed elsewhere. It also sets one cryptographic standard across the organisation, fixes TLS settings that allow inappropriate access or lateral movement, and alerts instantly on unauthorised access attempts.
TLS And Post-Quantum Readiness Assessment
This service evaluates the security of an organisation’s TLS implementations across its workloads. It runs in three steps:
- Project planning to map the TLS environment and choose key workloads
- A review of configurations, protocols and cryptography with T4 Detect, against NIST 800-52 and post-quantum readiness standards
- A workload specific report of weaknesses with a multi-step plan to future proof TLS
How It Works
The platform, the Workload Interaction Attack Surface Control Plane, is rolled out in stages. Detect comes first, followed by Detect++ and then Protect, and the controls are added to workloads without code changes.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Implementation support | A three phase service covers project planning, deployment, and reporting and handover. TrustFour staff work side by side with the customer’s IT team to configure, integrate and deploy the platform. |
| Standards | Scoring uses NIST 800-52 TLS attributes and NIST approved post-quantum ciphers, and coverage is mapped to the OWASP 2025 NHI Top 10. |
Identities And Systems Covered
TrustFour maps its coverage to the OWASP 2025 NHI Top 10, offering observation and alerting for NHI1, NHI2, NHI4 and NHI5, and observation, alerting, isolation and protection for NHI3 and NHI6 to NHI10.
| Service accounts and access keys | NHI1, working alongside configuration monitoring and identity governance |

| API keys and tokens | NHI2 |
| Third party NHIs | NHI3, protected with automatic mTLS |
| CI/CD credentials | Static credentials in pipelines, NHI6 |
| Certificates | NHI7 |
