Usercentrics is a data privacy technology company that helps businesses collect and honour user consent on websites, mobile apps and connected TV. It sells under two brands: Usercentrics for mid-market and enterprise customers, and Cookiebot by Usercentrics for small and mid-sized businesses.
The problem it solves is keeping marketing and analytics working within privacy law. The same concern now extends to AI agents, which request personal data through tools rather than through a browser.

What Usercentrics Does
Privacy law requires that a visitor agrees before most tracking starts, yet advertising and analytics depend on that data. Usercentrics treats consent as a signal that travels: it is collected once, recorded, and then respected by every downstream tag, platform and data flow, so a business can show that it asked and still make use of the data it is allowed to keep. Its Data Privacy Platform applies that model to websites, apps and connected TV, and extends the same guardrails to AI-driven workflows, where agents rather than people request the data.
Products
Web CMP
Marketing and compliance teams use the Web CMP, sold as Cookiebot Core CMP or Usercentrics Advanced CMP, to stay within privacy law without breaking their analytics. It blocks non-essential services automatically until consent is given, offers banner styling in more than 60 languages with A/B testing, supports IAB TCF 2.2 and Google Consent Mode v2, and runs one configuration across many domains and devices.
App CMP And CTV CMP
App developers embed the App CMP, an SDK for iOS and Android with GDPR, CCPA and TCF v2.2 support, A/B testing and analytics. Streaming services use the CTV CMP for connected TV and OTT apps, with consent shared across a viewer’s devices.
Server-Side Tagging And Meta Signals Gateway
Advertisers who lose data to browser restrictions can route it server side. Server-side tagging (sGTM) brings first-party data together for Google, Meta, TikTok and other destinations, and the Meta Signals Gateway sends web and offline conversions to Meta through Pixel and the Conversions API.
Preference Manager, Audience Unlocker And Privacy Tools
Preference Manager passes visitor consent and preferences into advertising platforms and marketing stacks. Audience Unlocker, in early access, supports retargeting built on consented first-party data. The Privacy Policy Generator writes and updates multilingual policies covering GDPR and US state laws.
How It Works
Everything is delivered as SaaS, with a small component placed in the customer’s site, app or AI tooling.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Web script | A script in the site header, or a Google Tag Manager template, loads the banner and records each choice. |
| Mobile SDK | The App CMP is embedded directly in iOS and Android apps. |
| Server-side container | Tracking data passes through a server-side container before it reaches ad and analytics destinations. |
| MCP gateway | MCP Manager sits between MCP clients and MCP servers, both remote (HTTP/SSE) and local (STDIO). |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Website and app visitors | Consent and preference records from the Web, App and CTV CMPs. |
|---|---|
| Users and AI agents | Each MCP Manager connection is authenticated and tied to a specific user or agent. |
| MCP servers and tools | Remote servers and local servers running on employee workstations. |
Agentic AI Capabilities
MCP Manager, acquired in January 2026, is a gateway that controls which users and agents can reach which MCP servers and tools. It gives security teams one place to deploy, govern and secure AI agents. It keeps a private MCP registry, applies role-based access control and policy, writes audit logs, and detects and filters PII in traffic. Rug pull protection watches MCP servers for changed tool definitions and can alert, require re-approval or block the connection. It also protects against prompt injection and data exfiltration, provisions tools, and charts token costs and tool calls.
