Vectra AI is a threat detection and response company for security operations teams that defend hybrid enterprises. It looks for signs of an attacker already inside the environment and gives analysts the means to contain that attacker before an intrusion turns into real damage.
The Vectra AI Platform covers the hybrid estate in a single product, so a SOC can follow one attack across domains instead of piecing it together from separate tools.

What Vectra AI Does
Attackers rarely stay in one place. They take over an account, move laterally through the network, hide in encrypted traffic and reach into cloud control planes. Vectra AI looks at the whole hybrid estate the way an attacker would and follows that movement across domains.
Signatures and threat intelligence still have a role, but Vectra adds patented behavioural detections on top of them so that attacks show up while they unfold rather than after the fact. Its Attack Signal Intelligence correlates signals across the network, identity, cloud and SaaS, turning a stream of noisy alerts into a short list of real incidents. For a SOC this cuts the time to detect and the time to respond.
Products
Network
Network is for teams that need to see command and control traffic, lateral movement and abuse of encrypted channels across physical, virtual and cloud networks. It studies behaviour, metadata and communication patterns instead of inspecting payloads, which lets it spot an intruder moving inside encrypted traffic. A single deployment can monitor up to 300,000 IPs at a time.
Identity
Identity catches credential abuse, privilege escalation and suspicious account activity as it happens. It continuously analyses authentication and access behaviour for both human and machine identities in Active Directory and Entra ID. When an account is confirmed as compromised, analysts can lock it down from the platform.
Cloud
Cloud gives security teams visibility into cloud control planes and applications. It detects misconfigurations, privilege escalation and malicious user activity, and surfaces identities that are weak, stale, over-privileged or misused. It also builds an inventory of managed, unmanaged, transient and third-party systems, which helps teams that have lost track of what is running in their accounts.
MDR
MDR is a 24/7 managed detection and response service. It suits organisations that lack the staff to watch alerts around the clock, extending the capacity of the in-house team and speeding up incident handling.
360 Response
360 Response turns detection into containment across identity, devices and network traffic. Analysts can interrupt lateral movement at the firewall, disable an identity or isolate an endpoint, so an attack is stopped where it is spreading rather than in one system only.
How It Works
The platform is agentless and can run on premises, as SaaS or in a hybrid model. Network coverage is typically in place within days, while identity and cloud coverage take minutes to connect.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Network sensing | Vectra captures metadata from network traffic rather than full packets. In the cloud it reads flow logs and data plane activity instead. |
| Attack Signal Intelligence | Purpose-built models for each attack surface, updated continuously, analyse this data in real time to show where the environment is compromised right now. |
| Data export | Metadata can be sent to a SIEM over standard Syslog or through the API, so the same telemetry is available for hunting and retention elsewhere. The platform also integrates with the EDR tools CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender and SentinelOne. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Human and machine identities | Authentication and access behaviour of user accounts and machine accounts |
|---|---|
| Directories | Active Directory and Entra ID |
| Cloud platforms | AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud and IBM Cloud |
| Other environments | SaaS applications and on-premises networks, physical, virtual and cloud |
Agentic AI Capabilities
AI Agents In The SOC
Vectra uses its own AI agents to do the first pass of analysis. They triage, stitch together and prioritise detections across network, identity and cloud without waiting for an analyst, so that analysts start from a joined-up incident rather than a pile of separate alerts.
AI Agents As Identities
The platform watches the behaviour of AI agents in the environment alongside human and machine identities, so an agent acting out of pattern is treated like any other suspicious account.
MCP Server
The Vectra AI MCP server connects the platform to AI tools such as Claude and Cursor and other popular assistants.
