Veracode is an application security company that helps software teams find and fix security flaws in the code they write, the open-source packages they pull in and the applications they run.
Its Application Risk Management Platform brings testing, posture management and AI-assisted remediation together, so security and development teams can work from one view of application risk across the software development lifecycle.

What Veracode Does
Modern applications combine code a team writes, open-source packages it pulls in and services it runs, and each layer can introduce flaws. Security teams rarely lack findings; they lack a way to decide which matter and to get them fixed without slowing developers down. Veracode tests each layer, blocks bad components before they enter the build, uses AI to propose fixes, and adds policy, reporting and analytics on top so security leaders can show where application risk stands and whether it is falling.
Products
Risk Manager
Risk Manager is the application security posture management (ASPM) product. It gives security leaders one place to see findings from across the testing portfolio and prioritise them, which helps teams that run many scanners and struggle to decide where the real exposure lies.
Static Analysis (SAST)
Static Analysis scans source code for flaws while developers are still writing it. It runs inside the IDEs developers already use, including Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio and VS Code, so problems surface before code is committed rather than in a late security review.
Software Composition Analysis (SCA)
SCA tracks the open-source libraries an application depends on and flags known vulnerabilities in them, including in transitive dependencies that teams often never chose directly. It suits organisations whose applications are mostly assembled from open-source components.
Package Firewall
Package Firewall blocks malicious open-source packages before they reach the development environment. Where SCA reports on what is already in use, Package Firewall stops a poisoned package from being installed at all, which addresses software supply chain attacks that rely on typosquatting or compromised libraries.
Dynamic Analysis, Containers, Testing Services And Training
Dynamic Analysis (DAST) tests running web applications from the outside, the way an attacker would. Container security scanning checks container images, and Penetration Testing as a Service (PTaaS) delivers penetration testing as a managed service. External Attack Surface Management finds internet-facing assets, and eLearning and Security Labs train developers in secure coding so fewer flaws are introduced in the first place.
How It Works
Testing runs as a cloud service. Developers connect to it from IDE plugins, and teams add scanning and fixing tasks to their build and deployment pipelines in tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps. When code is retested, the integrations update or close the matching defects automatically, so tickets stay in step with the code. Automation is supported through REST and XML APIs, API wrappers and Docker images. Findings from every scan land in the same platform, which is where Risk Manager and the reporting modules read them.
Agentic AI Capabilities
Veracode Fix
Fix uses AI to suggest code changes that resolve flaws found by Static Analysis and SCA. For first-party code it proposes patches to insecure lines; for open-source dependencies it remediates vulnerable packages, including transitive ones. Its suggestions draw on expert-curated data rather than free generation, and the architecture does not retain customer code. Fix has a reported coverage of over 70% of detected flaws across 10 supported languages.
Fix runs in VS Code and IntelliJ, from a CLI with a batch mode, and as a GitHub Action on pull requests. For SCA it can open automated pull requests in GitHub and GitLab.
AI-Driven Prioritisation And AI-Generated Code
The platform uses AI-driven prioritisation to rank findings, and Veracode offers an AI-Generated Code Defense solution for teams whose developers rely on coding assistants.
