WISeKey is a Swiss digital trust group that issues and protects identities for people, devices and, increasingly, AI agents. Its customers are companies and governments that need certificates, strong authentication and secure hardware they can trust from manufacture through to revocation.
The problem it addresses is trust in identity across very different things: a person signing a document, a chip in a car, a sensor in the field or a software agent acting on someone’s behalf. WISeKey anchors all of them in a Swiss Root of Trust.

What WISeKey Does
WISeKey’s idea is a single root of trust from which identities for people, machines and software can be issued and checked. That lets an organisation use one chain of trust for staff logins, signed documents, TLS certificates and the chips inside its products, instead of separate systems for each.
The software side issues and manages certificates and digital identities. The hardware side, through SEALSQ, puts protected keys into devices at the factory, so a device’s identity is fixed before it ever ships. Post-quantum cryptography aligned with NIST FIPS 203, 204 and 205 runs across both, giving customers a route to migrate before current algorithms weaken.
Products
CertifyID PKI Suite
CertifyID is for organisations that need their own certificate authority without building one. It gives a platform owner “a dedicated CA chained to the Swiss Root of Trust”, along with the tools to run it:
- PKI Core, the root and issuing CA software
- TLS Manager for certificate lifecycle at scale
- Universal Registration Authority
- Trust services as a qualified CSP, including qualified electronic signature and long term validation
WISeID
WISeID handles digital identity for workforce and customer access, using certificate based and mobile strong authentication in place of passwords. Its privacy preserving credentials let a user prove only what a service needs, such as being over a certain age or holding a professional role. The WISeID Keystone platform is part of this line, and together with CertifyID certificates it lets an AI agent prove “which agent it is, what it is allowed to do, and who authorised it”.
SEALSQ Semiconductors
SEALSQ makes the chips that hold device identities. Its range covers VaultIC secure elements, secure microcontrollers and smart card reader chips, plus the SEALQUANTUM portfolio, whose QS7001 Quantum Shield runs post-quantum algorithms “in hardware, not in software on top of it.” Device identity can be provisioned at manufacture, which suits makers of cars, medical devices and industrial equipment.
WISeSat
WISeSat operates nano and picosatellites that provide secure IoT connectivity from space for off grid assets. The constellation has nine satellites in sun synchronous orbit.
How It Works
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Root of Trust | The Swiss anchored root is WebTrust audited, and its fingerprint can be checked against browser trust stores. |
| Subordinate CAs | Beneath the root is an 11 subordinate CA structure, with each CA limited to one purpose. |
| Issuing platforms | WISeID, WISeID Keystone and SEALCOIN issue from this infrastructure, and third parties can run their own platforms on it. |
| Hardware layer | Device credentials live in SEALSQ secure elements and post-quantum chips, and can be issued, rotated and revoked from manufacture to decommissioning. |
| Post-quantum | Quantum resilient PKI and migration services are coordinated through SEALSQ’s Geneva Quantum Center of Excellence. |
