Yoti is a digital identity company that helps organisations confirm who a person is, or how old they are, while collecting as little personal data as possible. Retailers, banks, public bodies and online platforms use it to verify customers remotely, check ages without asking for an ID document and let people prove details about themselves from a reusable Digital ID.
The wider portfolio also includes Age Verification, eSignatures, Authentication and MyFace AI Services.

What Yoti Does
Proving identity online usually means handing over more data than a service really needs. Yoti’s approach is to verify once and share only what is required. Businesses can check an identity remotely with an ID document and a selfie, with KYC and AML checks in the same tool. Age assurance establishes age from a live selfie, with no ID document or credit card. People who hold a Digital ID can share just the details an organisation asks for by scanning a QR code or tapping a button.
The business model rests on selling verification services to organisations, and the company has committed that “We do not, and will never, sell personal data.” It handles a reported ten million-plus checks every month, and the Digital ID wallet has a reported 27 million downloads.
Products
Identity Verification
Identity Verification suits regulated businesses that need to onboard customers remotely and meet KYC and AML duties without branch visits. The customer submits an identity document and a selfie, and Yoti checks both:
- Document data extraction and AI-based authenticity checks, with optional human review.
- Liveness and face matching, with presentation attack detection tested to iBeta Level 3.
- Cross-checks against Yoti’s own fraud database and external police and national fraud databases, with data checks through credit reference agencies, AAMVA and Australia’s DVS.
- Screening against sanctions lists, watchlists, PEPs and adverse media, plus proof of address checks.
- Documents from 200+ countries and territories, with a reported 95% automation rate.
Digital ID
Digital ID is a wallet app in which people keep verified credentials and reuse them instead of uploading documents to every service. It can hold government ID, details verified by Yoti, credentials issued by organisations such as staff or student cards, and self-asserted details. A pre-verified Digital ID can share an anonymous Over 18 attribute, and Identity Verification Plus creates a Digital ID from a verification completed on a partner’s site.
Facial Age Estimation
Facial Age Estimation is for services that must keep minors out, or adults out of children’s spaces, without collecting ID. It estimates age from a selfie taken on a phone, laptop or terminal, with a liveness check, and returns a result in under a second through the API or the age verification platform. Reported mean accuracy is 1.3 years for ages 13 to 17, and images are deleted immediately and permanently.
How It Works
Yoti can be added to a service in three ways, and its technology is built into more than 70 SaaS products.

|---|---|
| SDK | Document scanning and verification embedded in a website, app or kiosk. |
| API | Programmatic access to identity and age checks. |
Identities And Systems Covered
| Human users | Customers, citizens and staff whose identity is checked against a document and their face. |
|---|---|
| Age checks | People proving they are above or below an age threshold, by estimate or by a pre-verified attribute. |
