Zamna is a digital immigration provider for airlines. It checks that every passenger’s travel documents meet the entry rules of their destination before they fly, and it takes on the liability if a government fine follows, so airlines can board passengers with confidence and without slow manual checks at the counter.
The service is aimed at airlines with international routes, where a single missed visa or travel authorisation can mean a refused passenger and a government fine. Zamna does the checking in the background, so passengers are not asked to upload anything or queue for a manual check.

What Zamna Does
When a passenger arrives at a destination without the right visa, a matching ID or a required electronic travel authorisation, the authorities can refuse entry and fine the airline that carried them. These inadmissible passenger cases, known as INADs, cost airlines money and force staff to inspect documents by hand at check-in. Zamna moves that work ahead of departure and turns it into an automated decision the airline can rely on, backed by Zamna taking on the financial risk of being wrong. That is the difference from plain identity verification: the airline is not just told that a document looks valid.
Products
Passenger Document Clearance
The core service clears all of a passenger’s travel documents before departure, for documents from more than 180 issuing countries. Checks run against live border and travel requirements in the background, before the passenger reaches the airport, so the check-in desk only has to confirm that the passenger is carrying the documents already cleared. Zamna reports more than 100 million passengers cleared and a 90% clearance rate at scale. For airlines with many international routes, this replaces per-passenger manual inspection with a single automated decision.
Zamna Guarantee
The guarantee addresses the financial side of document errors. If a passenger Zamna has cleared is refused entry, the government fine is covered by Zamna and the airline does not pay it. The company reports $0 paid out under the guarantee so far.
How It Works
Zamna integrates with the airline’s systems rather than with the passenger’s device.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Departure control integration | Zamna connects directly to the airline’s departure control system (DCS), without extra middleware. |
| Background verification | Passenger data is verified before the passenger reaches the airport, confirming that identity and travel documents meet the relevant regulations. |
| Linked passport data | Passport data is linked in Zamna’s network, so on later trips the passenger only needs to show that they hold the documents already verified. |
| Platform design | The platform was built to connect passenger records that airlines, governments and security agencies hold separately, using blockchain to verify passenger data under a privacy by design framework. |
