The Non-Human Identity Management Group recently launched a LinkedIn poll asking: Does Agentic AI Security = NHI Security?
Very interesting results on how the community perceives the relationship between Agentic AI security and NHI security:
- Yes – 35%
- No – 65%
No surprise to see the majority responding “No,” reflecting that most professionals understand that securing autonomous AI agents involves different considerations than securing Non-Human Identities. That said, 35% of respondents answered “Yes,” showing there is still some confusion or overlap in thinking about the security of AI agents versus NHIs.
This poll highlights a growing awareness of the distinct challenges in NHI security, while also suggesting a need for further education around how Agentic AI security intersects with, but does not fully equal, NHI security. As Agentic AI adoption grows, understanding this distinction will be critical for organizations managing both AI agents and NHIs safely.
